I don't know which boat it was. They haven't built too many yet.

Got a call, it was a new one, hull number four. Initial review looks as if a Smart Craft tab indicator malfunctioned and the tab was down when they went into a corner hard even thought the indicator said level. Mike was driving, both were thrown free and are okay. Landed right side up and broke the windshield, that's all I know.

Good to hear everyone is OK!

I know they must be pushing the envelope, but no indicator will tell you as much as your ass in the seat will. Hope it's a quick easy fix and we can see what she'll do!

Racing boat flips in Bristol Harbor | EastBayRI.com

BRISTOL — A high-performance racing boat overturned in the choppy waters of Bristol Harbor at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. While the two men on board appeared to be uninjured from the accident, a large group of rescue crews and onlookers gathered on the docks across from the Herreshoff Marine Museum, watching the scene taking place about 300 yards from the shore. Two men could be seen standing on the overturned orange hull awaiting the fire department’s rescue boat to arrive.

#Several employees from the museum heard an emergency call on the marine radio and came out to the dock to see what was going on.

#“I heard a boat take one pass,” said museum employee, Larry Lavers.

    #Then there was silence.

#The engine noise from powerful, custom-made boats is a familiar sound when local boat builders take their products out for a test run, Mr. Lavers said.

#A rescue boat transported one of the boat’s occupants, John Makepeace, to the shore where rescue personnel were awaiting.

#“We weren’t going very fast,” Mr. Makepeace said, as he was being tended to by medical personnel. “We just kind of caught a wave.”

#The other man, who was not identified, refused transport and stayed with the overturned boat. Lines were attached to the watercraft in an attempt to secure the vessel and prevent it from drifting.

#Several attempts to right 30-foot, Outer Limits racing boat while it was in the water failed. Rather than risk sinking the vessel, rescue boats towed it hull-side up to Bristol Marina. There, the boat was righted as it was hauled out of the water on slings, as members of the fire, police, department of environmental management and the Coast Guard stood nearby.

#This was the second boat rescue in as many days, as emergency crews were called to an area off Annawamscutt Drive on Monday. There, a canoe had overturned, requiring assistance by the fire department’s rescue boat, Marine-One, to assist

I wonder how fast the canoe was going???

I don't blame Mike for staying with the boat. The last thing he needs is a tow bill/recovery claim for thousands......

I wasn't gonna post it, but now it's been said elsewhere. The boat was going right at 110 in testing before they had the issue in the turn. That is friggin fast for a 29' Vee with a single 600sci.
