You win a hearty handshake, a pat on the back, and the warm glow of victory.

having 3" shorties won't necessarily mean you NEED a 5 blade. What matters is where the props are relative to the bottom.

If I recall, the guys running the older 35's, saw speed increases by adding 2" imco lowers, using their 4 blade props. However, you have extension boxes, they didn't. So in a way, a 3" shorty on yours is about equal to a 2" shorty on a boat without boxes.

I ran a set of maximus props on my 402 Formula. Those engines didn't really make much more power than your's. Maybe 25HP or so. That boat ran 70 on GPS, with any load. However, BBLADES did a TON of work on those maximus to get them to run the same speed, as I did with a stock set of 25P 4 Blade merc revolution props. Actually, those stock Revolution 4 blades, got me 73MPH. Keep in mind, that was a 12k lb 40FT formula, straight bottom, with TRS drives, with 600HP per side. Those drives were a little high for a TRS setup, and believe it or not, the 4 blade Bravo's, and 4 blade Revolutions planed as good, if not better than the 5 blades.

My drives on my Fountain are High. I ran a set of 5 blades last year. While the boat planed VERY well with them, they gave the boat too much stern lift, and my handling went out the window. Around 75mph, it just felt squirrely. Going back to a 4 blade, at 84mph it was on rails. Hopefully this year I'll be on rails, just faster.

Did you get those Mirage's we talked about?
I won't have my new props until the first week of June if Merc ever gets off their ass and makes some.

I just bought a new hot tub to go along with the pool, so Heather doesn't care what I spend on the boat.
I bet those 31's are gonna be fast. Your gonna have to run in the hot rod class.
