    big red was one of my alltime favs. looked like a giant 30. i wonder where it is today?

    stepp is a good guy and builds one hell of a fast boat.

    It was for sale a few years ago. I saw it only once at Grand Haven in '85. I don't think it came off the trailer that weekend.

    Big Red was made of wood. But so was Gentry's 48 Cougar. Ah- the old days.

    I believe the boat in your picture was an outboard boat, which was used in some of the earliest literature. The Joker 22 had stock Merc 200's with crescent gearcases only, due to class rules at the time, and ran right at 80 mph.
