As the first race of the Offshore Powerboat Association’s 2012 season nears, Smith Brothers Offshore Racing Team announces the addition of CRC Industries as a sponsor. Rich Smith, throttleman on the team’s powerboat is pleased to announce the partnership. “We are extremely excited to be supported by such a recognizable company in the motorsports industry. CRC has a long history of involvement in racing and it is fantastic to be able to be a part of their program.”
Julie Williams, CRC marketing manager, adds to Smith’s excitement about the partnership. “Partnering with Smith Brothers Offshore Racing is an opportunity for CRC to reach the marine and powerboat enthusiasts with our CRC® Marine and Marykate® brand products. Showcasing our newest marine product, CRC PhaseGuard4® Ethanol Fuel Treatment, on the sides of the CRC/Joker Powerboat is an excellent way to support our new product and increase brand recognition among fans.”
Brother Pete, the driver of the 26’ Joker Powerboat added, “Besides the obvious automotive chemicals CRC produces, they also manufacture a full line of marine products that will help keep our boat in top racing condition; running well and looking good.” One product that the brothers are excited about is CRC PhaseGuard 4® Ethanol Fuel Treatment. “We run our boat on pump gas, and ethanol fuel in the marine environment is a concern to us,” they said. “Ethanol attracts and absorbs water into the fuel, but with CRC PhaseGuard 4® in our fuel tank, we don’t have to worry about the harmful effects ethanol can have on our motors.”
The team looks forward to representing CRC Industries’ brands including CRC®, K&W®, Marykate®, CRC® Marine and Sta-lube®.
The team is looking forward to the season opening event in Ocean City, Maryland to be held May 11-12. The remainder of the season’s events will be held in NJ, MI, NY, MD and FL. “We travel more miles getting to and from the races, and CRC products will help keep our support vehicles in top running order over the long haul,” added Bud Wilson, the team’s crew chief.
