So, funny story today about ingenuity.
I wasn't even drunk, but I was at work, so that wasn't an option.
We have a shared office at work for the managers. It's really just a closet that has a few file cabinets, and the safe. The safe rarely has much more money in it than I have in my pocket, but, this is a corporate thing.
This office is shared by me and my counterpart manager. We recently lost our boss (damn shame), so now it's just the two of us.
My counterpart is out of town.
Some part-time gal went into the Mgrs. office, and managed to lock the door behind her when she left.
Well, we don't have a key.
After 15 mins of trying to pick the lock or jimmy the knob, I got another idea.
    Drop ceiling.
Set up a 6' ladder, popped a ceiling panel, leaned over the 2' partition wall into the office, pulled another ceiling panel.
I now have the entire office open, but no safe way to get in (suspended ceiling, ~12' drop, over the 2' wall, nothing to stand on to get over).
I went into McGyver mode and looked at what I had available.
I went into the shop, and grabbed an old orange 50' extension cord.
Hung it in a U shape until I could grab the door knob, and then twisted it with the cord, and pushed the door open with my foot.
    I wish I had pictures.

Finally... the reason that extension cords grab everything, revealed.

I was quite proud of this little feat.
Maybe it was an underlying reminder of my construction days of when air hoses and cords get caught on everything.

I was able to unlock a door for the pump room of a car wash by going under the door with a stiff wire and grab the handle. Hence my screen name

    That sounds chilly to me.
    It was 78 here today.
I heard the extended weather forecast today, and there is a 50/50 chance it will rain here this month.
But they say after that hour it will be sunny and clear skies again.
Good, I won't need to water my cacti, but maybe make sure the irrigation sys is working for the palm trees

So do you have good odds that they will reduce the charges?
I'm sure we have some one around here that can bake a cake for you with a file in it. I could suggest a few of the ladies, but that would be sexist.
Hell, I can even follow the directions on the side of the box... We'll have you sprung in no time.
