    Fundie remember zips?? the white igloos, you bought a cup of icecream, and they had a topping bar with everything under the sun. you could buy a small ice cream and have a 3 pound sundae by the time you were done

    The white igloo was "The Igloo" on Douglas and Monroe.
    The "Zips" were yellow I think. There was one near Whitmer.

    Baseball cap sundaes.

    You could use the brim as an overflow.

    Remember Burger Chef? Always thought they were better than McDonalds. It was a real treat to get a burger there, instead of the greasy home made burger with regular white bread (soggy). Remember Eddie Murphy's bit about the home made burger?

    hell yeah I remember burger chef, you got a plain burger and they had a burger topping bar, you could put how much of whatever on it, that place rocked.

    There is a movie on Showtime right now called "The Boys of 2nd Street park". Six men reminisce about growing up in 1950's and 60's in Brooklyn, NY. True stories - not really a movie.

    looking in the weeds and ditches for returnable bottles so you could buy candy, I would do that now for cheap beer, not mid west cheap beer,maybe oklahoma dust bowl cheap beer ( tom joad on the road six packs,) no more steinbeck references
