    Here is someone who was either one of the smartest guys who ever lived, or was in the exact right place at the exact right time, with the exact right vision....


    I think probably all of that and more.

    He saw a boat design he absolutely fell in love with. Then proceeded to have one built and drive it in a race. The record he set that very first race caused so many to be ordered he started a boat company.

    This is my favorite quote by Dick. After the 1966 Nassau race I believe when his boat broke up and sank.
