    While I will fully agree that they had a right to be there, and do understand the context of the complete statement that was made, the CG (or anyone else for that matter) should be prepared for the consequences that may follow after more people decide that they too have "a right to be there". I was thinking, and should have kept it to myself, that a public television interview may not be the right place for a statement like that. I meant no offense directly or indirectly by my post.

    sad news for the jet skier's family in holland, they found his body this morning on the rocks on the north side of the holland pier. very very sad, our thoughts go out to the family.

    I understand and agree. No offense either. I thought of the hundreds of ice fisherman that have had to be rescued on Erie over the years. It just struck me that the quote was slightly our of context, and only sought balance. If I had been the spokesman, I would have skipped that part too.
    I can't even comprehend why they went out.

    And I didn't mean to hijack if this has become a memorial thread.

    Mine is still out back. And still not enough boat to play with 25 footers from the northeast on the west side of Lake Michigan.

    i saw on the news tonight a runner got washed into the lake in today in chicago. ask yourself, why am i running along the lake shore right now ??
