OB this year was as good as what offshore racing gets for the true racer that thrives on ocean racing. The water was big but raceable. All the stores ran out of sand bags is what I was told. There will be storys told about this race for years to come. The cool part is we had Freeze Frame,Jamie Russel,Pete Boden and 5 TV camera men there shooting the race. In my opinion the best call OPA made was to have us do a storme race which was 20 miles per day or 3-4 laps depending on the class. That was key to let the guys push as hard as they could for a shorter distance. The flag went up and you had 3 laps to make it happen. As crazy as it sounds there were very few boats that broke or need a tow in. Day 2 it was all on the line and we all have all winter to fix parts. The racing was even faster in bigger water. In the end no was hurt, no one sank, no one fliped and some very good racers earned World Titles. It was a once in a 5 year race that you didnt want to miss. Im sure when the TV show comes out that race will be the iceing on the cake!!!!

DD, I have to say your boat was hauling the mail on day 2. It was a very impressive run that I didnt think you had it in you. Keep running like that and you will rule the seas!!!! Hats off to that run.

DD I agree, that was the water your boat was made for. I thought you would have been the favorite in Class 5, but the Jersey Boyz ended up showing you the short way around the track. So I guess navigation is still part of offshore racing.

I don't know where everyone was going, but after rounding turn two, all boats seemed to run about a half mile out, when the course was 200 or 300 years closer in.
