Or the funny thing is twin cylinder 2 strokes that cost the same and more. 15-20hp of a twin isn't unheard of. Look around for twin gas. There's a few out there with #6 drive duplicates on the 80" long hull. So now imagine almost 40 hp in a 80" fiberglass 35 lb boat.
My little breathed on Zenoah makes about 4.5 hp I'm told, at a dizzying 12,000 to 13,000 rpm range. And it runs about 30 min on a quart of pre mix. I've flipped it a few times, but you put pcs of 4" foam floaties in the bow and it floats.

Yup, they gave me a build print, indicated where the cg was, where to set the prop shaft, where to put the elec box, etc.
I bought most parts from marinespecialties-rc.com. These guys still have everthing I bought on record and help with any mods or repair parts I need. They machine custom some of the stuff they sell too. These guys are awesome.
If you want a taste though, go to Banzisports.com, and see what these things can cost. Explore the rtr options and diff sizes of boats and motors. I built my own but ended up there anyway. Also agreat shop.
But just to see what a 46" hull with a mod Zenoah 260 (about 6 hp) performs-a reasonable entry point-, go to www. performanceunlimitedproducts.com and watch the video lower on the front page. Mine about runs like that.
