If they did Randy it would be in P3, that is the class Time Bandit, and Doc have raced in with SBI. The P4 class is a 80 MPH, and P3 is 95 MPH this yr.

    Hey Frank,

With SBI allowing boats to race in 2 different classes in one race and Randy being a huge threat to win SVL, wouldnt the SVL class want him to race in P4 to keep him under 80 and alleviate the threat?

Are you going to make it Trent?????

Question: In Clearwater, at the Nationals, it looked in the points like Doc ran P3 and SVL both, even though he only ran once???? Can Randy do that if the two classes run at the same time?

Theres no such thing as "P-5" anymore in SBI. The lowest bracket they offer is P-4 now with the 30 ft single and under. Last year 1st race had 4, 5 and SS in the first race and SVL was in the second, however with the P class restructure theres no telling what they will do this year. Best of luck to you all and more importantly be safe!!!

By the way, my opinion, you are one "P" class short now. It takes too much power to get a 34' to 38' Cig, Scarab, etc. up to 95mph.... 85 was about right....

It seems to be as simple as paying two entry fees.

I asked the question for our new SVL team. I told them that if there was a way to race in 2 classes it would give them more seat time on a course that is challanging. There is no place like KW to learn your boat.
So is class 3 running at the same time as SVL????

Dont know Randy, and dont think we will know for a while. It would depend on boat count and how it shakes out. Depending on the number of boats in SVL we might have our own start. I the past we have started with the P3 if there is only a few, so u never know.

You will have a few classes with some big numbers, P4,SVL,and SS can have close to 8-10 boats .

    Stop thinking for the racers......

back in the day they raced single engine boats in A class up to 95 MPH and 28 footers in B class over 100 MPH !!!!

F2 with twin HP 500's where close at 93 MPH !

That beeing said.. the less classes we have the more boats we race and the easyer it is for the fans !!!

I would love to see the old days back myself.. A, B, C and cats !

    7 DAYS...LETS GO !!!!!!!

Scott , you missed the point again.

The point he is making is there is no place for a twin engine old boat run? Didn't the single guys push out the twins? Where do old F2 boats and other old twins run now? Against TKO?

Back in the day when? There was never a 28' B boat going over a hundred. The fastest early F2's barely went 90. Back in the day A class was single and twin racing together at about 80. Finally the cats were mixed in C and D class they did not have their own class in sportsman.

Good Luck and remember you need to finish to win.

I think we should start a seperate thread on this.

I do believe the boats like Simmons Racing, Formula, etc. ie; Open Boats with twin Big Blocks, need a class. And, I also believe that the speeds they were running at towards the end of F2 were too fast for an open boat of that design. So, in my opinion, 1 class short.....

The twisted Stix boat ( simmons Phantom went 93MPH in F2 ) the 28 Manta ( Smokin Gun ran 103 MPH B class ),My boat in A class ran max of 93 MPH ! and the rule says MAX SPEED IN THE CLASS IS 95 .. not MUST SPEED !!!! and TKO is not running in SBI in anything other then P1 because he has Blowers !

What ever. I must be mistaken you KNOW IT ALL.

Back in the day? What years are you talking about? Scott I raced F2 in 98,99,00,01,03. Maybe it went that since but, it didn't back in the day.

What year was Smoking Gun? I don't remember ever seeing it that at a race or in a record book.

All you have to do is tell him everything you tested, what worked and what didn't work, loan him your best prop, and he'll do fine......
