I can not believe this actually happened. Wish Don and the others a quick recovery and hope they find the bastards.

Three men suffered broken bones and lacerations at the hands of an angry mob in an apparent "lake rage" incident just offshore from Lakefront Beach over the weekend, police said.

The men, from St. John and Hammond, were getting ready to call it a day shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, they said, preparing their 38-foot cigarette boat for a return to the Hammond Marina, when a cruiser loaded with as many as a dozen people rode in from the Illinois side.

Witnesses told police the skipper of the cruiser apparently didn't know how to control his boat, with young swimmers dodging out of the craft's path as it drifted toward the anchored cigarette boat.

The victims said they were in the water, attempting to guide the cruiser away from the other boats, when someone on board took offense, and suddenly seven to 10 men -- some armed with beer bottles -- jumped into the water and attacked them.

"There were people all over the place," one of the victims recalled of the brief melee, which was captured on video and in photographs by several stunned onlookers.

The attackers then jumped back into the cruiser, which turned around on a full-throttle course back toward Chicago, witnesses said, leaving a 59-year-old man with broken cheek bones and two others with wounds requiring stitches and staples.

Because the attack occurred slightly more than 20 yards off the Lake Michigan shore, the Lake County sheriff's police are investigating the incident.

The victims said they are recovering from their injuries, and are scheduled to meet with sheriff's detectives Thursday.

The WORST part of this, in my opinion, is the kids that were there, seeing their father, grandfather, and friends being attacked by these DOGS and beat with bottles and what not.

Wow this sounds like the F-in assholes we encountered on Mon. at boaters!!

(at close to sun down) Music on full blast, they came very close to our boats, there were 3 boats at the beach (we were hanging out waiting to go to see the fireworks) huge wake rocking our boats, about 10 dudes mostly black... captain was white and they were a coiple cj=hicks on the boat.they anchor and act like retards.. soon I start to see a trails of trash traveling away from their boat, beer bottles, plastic, coke cans just all kinds of junk..I~m like wtf are you kidding me???
15 min later more garbage.. soon it was a trail 1/4 mile long. Just dumping their **** in the lake as if it was their garbage can
I contemplated going over and saying something but the odds were not in my favor. I contemplated swimming over and cutting their anchor line but wife was not on board with that one either.
It was obvious another boat had made calls to the Coast guard as we could all see the debris and everyone was pissed.
No respect.

Coast guard showed up soon said they saw the junk in the water and I hope those ****ers got a huge fine, they were probably wasted so maybe someone went to jail too.

Exactly !! Nothing that the Glock with a few extra +2 mags can't cure. F...in low lifes. Did anyone get the name off the boat ??? Should'nt be hard to trace.
