I'm not a hunter, or even a fishing type guy. I don't have a problem with hunters/fishermen, it's just not something I enjoy. I go out of my way to NOT hit the wildlife out here with my truck (and there is a LOT of quail, rabbits, usually see a coyote or two every week).
BUT, a venomous snake that could put a serious hurting on my wife, myself, or my dogs - I feel no guilt in killing it at all.
I have no use for snakes other than a nice pair of boots.

I've been lucky moving from my native ohio to SE Florida. I've only come into contact with the iguana's that seem to like to crawl into the boat to sun and those damn little gecko looking things. They keep the dogs entertained though.

I cannot get over the godamn palmetto bugs (pleasant term for cock roach)down here. At least once a week one of those creepy fukers are belly up on the floor.

I'd take those over a rattle snake anyday though!

I do love the amount of um uh... I forget what they're called... refer to post 26.

Even though i am/was one, i agree about the damn ohioians. The fiance has a friend down here now and wont freaking leave. I even stopped feeding her beer!

Josh!! good to see ya around!
Yeah, I have to admit I absolutely LOVE it out here. My place is out in the desert at the base of a mountain, so, wildlife comes with it. I don't like snakes, so yeah, if one is threatening, it's gonna get dead.
I'm far enough out here that when you ask someone how far away another place is, the answer is not in miles, but instead... " from here to Globe, that's about four beers"
Let me know when you want to collect that beer I owe you, or the beer you owe me, or... whatever...
