Sold the boat

The old saying does not apply, it is not a happy day, kinda sad actually...
Surveyor had a FLIR camera, (thanx Paul for the recommendation) very cool stuff, you could see all the interior structures of the boat and any moisture.
Pat sure builds em right, hull is 100% perfect and after 12 years the boat is 100% solid!
I know the new owner will take good care of her...

Very well taken care of, what sold me is the cockpit room, Baja just can`t be beat in that respect.

Its got T.C 100hp upgrade/rebuilt (520hp/600tq) motors last year, drives, lots of extras, very clean

After looking for months(With the help of Mild.. thanx again JOE!)In the end I was a bit more apprehensive about the pre 1990 older boats, this 33' is a 2000.

He did the motors.

engines freshed by Tyler Crockett spring 09 with his 100hp package installed
*** all new pistons (Diamond)
*** new Eagle H beam rods with appropriate bolts
*** new lifters, etc.
*** 2.25X1.90 valves with larger stems and stem seals installed as well as brass guides
*** mild porting on heads with new valve springs
*** Crane 1.7 rockers & 1pc. pushrods
*** .20 mill on heads for 9.1-1 compression
*** engines dynoed at ~515-520hp and over 600ft./lb

I`m a little concerned about the Bravo 1`s. Two of em helping each other out and not being blown, being longer than the AT should keep it in the water more.. Please tell me itll be more reliable.

You'll be fine. Just take it easy gettin on plane, and get the throttling thing down path when the water gets rough, and they'll hold up fine.

Blower motors are harder on drives than a N/A motor. Your new motors are probably close to what stock 500 mercs put out power wise. Lots of boats out there with the 500/bravo package.

Congrats. I think you'll be real happy with the larger boat with twins.

You'll be upgrading the drives later down the road if you start to beat on it in the rough. It's just the way it goes.

Plus you might wanna talk with some guys who run the same boat as yours. I know some baja's really liked the 3 blade mirage plus props. They ran well with them, and easier on drives. But, I know obnoxus tried a set, and they didnt work well on his boat.

He has a little less power than you do, but his boat is also heavier. He plays in the rough. I dont think he has had any drive issues. There is something i recall about bravo drives, that maybe one of the guys more familiar with them, can answer.

Sometime around the 2000 era they changed something in the drives, maybe gears. And the standard bravo was supposed to be stronger than the previous years. I think the real weak ones were the early 1988-1991 bravos? Or something like that. I am more familiar with the trs/ssm stuff. Most of the boats i owned bravo's werent even out yet when they were made, except for the Fountain. And they wouldnt put the bravo behind the 420HP merc from the factory, so my boat came with TRS.

I ran my 99' 288 Sunsation with a 525SC with 600HP for over three years on a standard Bravo drive....it also had 400 hours on it with 385HP before I got ahold of it. If you drive it right you will have no issues!

Congrats Dan! The new 33 looks great! You'll love the 33 and with that power it will be very fun to drive. The bravo's will live long as long as you treat them fair. Seems like your happy with the surveyor, don't be afraid to consider that for your new purchase too.

Congrats Dan, very cool that the new one already has motor upgrades and headers. Just be easy on the sticks and the drives will last for awhile
