Ha! You don't know how right your are! That thing has been for sale for 2 years at least...I've watched the price come down from $140k to the $99500 it's at now. Plus would be the 6s, minus would be the 1000hp...not for me. If it weren't so far away, I might have acted on it by now. I'm sure I'll be happy in my 35 this year...and I've got more plans for it for next year...so no new boat on the horizon for me.

It looks like it used to be used for Ski Racing with the tow bar mounted on the transom. Sick boat for sure!

Isn't Dave building 1000's for the 35 right now? Now that would be fun!

I've talked with the owner when it 1st came for sale ($169K) Plus I spoke at length with the guy who did all the updates on the interior.
Plus #6's, minus... wet sump. 10K to do the conversion to drysump. The 1000's, not a problem. Drawback..... straight bottom, no small steps like most of the late 95's 96 & 97's. Big factor in the speed.

I've got everything done. Just need to decide if I want to spend the money right now or not. Probably going to get a survey done and put some money down to hold it. Will let you know what is going on.

But then I would not be your friend anymore...and it would be your loss. So it's better that you didn't buy it...we are both better off.

I love that boat. Even with the wet sumps and straight bottom, i would have to guess it still runs mid 90's or so? I knew of a 1989 42 with 900's and ssm III's that ran somewhere around there..
Seems like not really a bad deal considering some are asking almost that much for a older 42 with 500's and bravos
Of course everything looks great in pictures, but that one looks very nicely rigged, and clean. For a older 42, i cant think of a better setup, staggard 900 mercs and sixes in a all red hull? wave crusher! Of course dry sumps would be a added bonus, but easier to convert them than consistantly repair bravos on that ride.

If Stroud buys that thing...what will he change his screen-name to? Twin-Ins? Twin Hulls? Just doesn't have the same ring as Whackas....
