Anyone want to goto Aruba the second Saturday in June? It will run from Saturday to Saturday. We had one of our time shares open up and this week is now available. Our place is at www.lacabana.com and right next to Eagle Beach. We have a 1 bedroom unit there, with a kitchen on the 4th floor that will actually sleep 4 people. Two couples could go and split the cost if you want. You can have this week for $650.00 for two or 4...doesnt matter...or make an offer.

There is gambling there and the best place to go is The Crystal Palace downtown. The island is roughfully 8 miles wide and 19 miles long and very easy to get around in. You have to try real hard to get lost. Aruba is also the place where they filmed the movie Blue Lagoon years ago at what is called Baby Beach. You will need a passport, but almost always, it only takes about 15 minutes to clear customs...coming in and leaving. White sand beaches and very clear warm water with temperatures of 85* to 90* everyday.

Aruba is pretty cool. I remeber the roads the most, they are on the map as a road, and they are a two track goat trail down a friggin cliff to the beach.......
Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Are you talking about Aruba? I am trying to figure out where the cliffs are at and I cant. There are no beaches on the North and Northwest side...only coral, rocks and big waves...and they do not allow swimming on that side either. The only beacjes that I know of are from Baby Beach (where they filmed Blue lagoon) almost to the light house. My place is on Eagle Beach. The ONLY high spot on the whole island is basically in the middle and its a big 1000 foot hill...other than that the rest of the island has an elevation of about 5 feet. The center pic on the top row is a pic of Baby Beach.

I guess they'd be low cliffs.

We drove to find some pools they lounge in way past the natural bridge arch deal. I'll have to get out my maps. Don't remember what they were called.

We ended up driving down some boulder two track, dang near broke my wrist on the Suzuki 4x4 POS jeep deal we rentedwith the broken power steering, and there were some other cars there that couldn't get back up the goat trail.

Awwwwwwwww...I know where you were at then...over at the "Natural Pool". Thats pretty neat. The natural bridge fell down 6 ot 7 years back at around 6 in the morning. Now it is just a crumpled mess. The road..or trail going to the Natural Pool is lucky to have 2 ruts to follow. As popular as that place is, you wouldthink that they would make some sort of a road, but then they might leave it this way for the tour groups to make money on.

I just remember it being a "road" on the map. I'm like, "Holy Shiot Batman"......

The two ruts were up and down a side hill with boulders to go over......

Yea...we are over there 5 or 6 times a year and I have beenall over those back roads and trails. I dont think they ever smooth them out, so by the time that you get there or wherever else you might be going on a non-paved road...you are going to seriously get yourself hammered. For a country with a very low crime rate...have you ever seen the prison? You can see it on the way to Baby Beach way back off on the left. Its bigger than Alcatraz, so I am guessing that they must import some inmates. We will be back over there in a couple of weeks for a 10 to 14 day run. I am pretty content on just laying out...sometimes going down to the docks and watching the cruise ships come in.

Last winter we went to Bonaire instead of Aruba. Completely different as far as night life. One, very small, casino. The snorkling and diving were great though.
