I get this question alot. Why do you boat, where do you boat, what do you do? Small town and I launch about 5 times aweek when weather is good. People see my truck at the launch all the time.
#1- To get away from people and screen my calls, no one knocking at my door wanting there car fixed.
#2-Live downtown- get in boat to get my own space
#3-Buy a boat and try to find me to see what I do. No free answers!
#4-I just like it, Kenny said it best(Vessel of fredom) !
Whats your reason?

The short answer that I give to anyone that questions any of my hobbies: becase I enjoy it and becase I can.
Talking boater to boater: Moving across the water is something that gets me away from the daily grind and allows me to forget about all the stress and negativity in the world around me. When I'm boating my mind and body finally start to relax. The speed, the sound of screaming drag with a fish on the line, partying, diving, poker runs, naked women, booze, smell of burnt race fuel, the smell of fish blood....thats all icing on the cake.
And nothing on earth compares to the quality of the friendships formed from boating.

I always tell my wife there are three things that clear my head from work. Basketball, boating and --x. The boat gives me a two-fer. Basketball helps me make it thru the winter!

The need for speed. Because I can't swim that fast.
The four "B's"..
Boats, Babes, Bikes and Beer.
The never ending pursuit of a perfect day, getting out on the water, having a great day, coming back to land with out braking anything.
I'm still await that day. Just kidding, I had a few. Very few.Life is: what happens... when you plan something else.

I guarantee that there is somthing called a "boaters high". If not then I am coining that term now as you read this. Way better than a runners high where endorphines are realesed causing a mild state of euphoria. I think all of us become chemiclly imbalanced when we are about to go boating, while crusing across the water and just looking at boats. Plain and simple we are addicted to all of the aspects of boating.
