    My brother and I use to wont dad to put the 150 on our boat back in the day. Chrysler was pretty SERIOUS about racing.

    I remember a boat having triple 150's with stacks, you could here it a mile away, sounded cool.

    That was an Edgar Rose/Charlie Strang project at OMC. Edgar originally worked for Curtis Wright in NJ back in the 50's and early 60's, and they owned the Wankel rights at that time. Edgar was able to acquire a license for the OMC development project after he was recruited by them. The motors were very powerful but also had the advantage of a LOT more cu.in. and BTU processing than the competition at that time. The advent of the V-6 Outboards basically made the rotary design impractical for racing and the lack of fuel economy doomed it as a consumer motor.
