My guess is that the Fountain guys missed really bad on their prop, they were sandbagging really, really, bad, which actually would not be a bad thing, or they had some other mechanical problem. As for the Typhoon vs. SunPrint battle, it was a good one. Coming into the harbor to start the last lap Gary just crushed Colby and Randy never lifted despite a monster chine walk. The audio from both boats would be fun to listen to! Good safe race. Friday should be interesting.

Hahahaha. Guess I deserved that one. I got it on pretty good authority, however, that they missed badly on their prop. Oh well, stuff happens. All three boats were right together. Good race.

Absolutely but I think the "sandbagging" is the truth.

Sandbagging to third? Hard to buy, plus I do not think it is in the DNA of the owner or driver/throttleman to sandbag. My best guess is that they went with their smallest prop and 1:65 gear thinking it was going to be rough. If they hit their set up right on Friday my guess is they will win by over a minute because they still have 5-8mph on Randy and Steve and with a third place they need to win the next two and gain as much time as possible.

As for Steve and Randy, they did not work on their boats after OB. They ran in a relatively flat race as you would have expected - within 10 seconds or so of each other, and from what I saw the difference was that Gary got the better of Colby in two spots, turn 1 and entering the harbor on the second to last lap, for the win.

Where was Saratoga Stampede? I think their team was in the Watch Your Back boat, which raced during race 2, same as Super Vee Extreme.
