I believe it Bruce. Steve did nothing either except remove the bussel. Randy and Steve ran close together as you would have expected in a relatively flat race. From what I saw the difference was that Gary got the better of Colby in two spots, turn 1 and entering the harbor on the second to last lap, for the win.
As for the Fountain team, my best guess is that they went with their smallest prop and 1:65 gear thinking it was going to be rough like yesterday. If they hit their set up right on Friday my guess is they will win by over a minute because they still have 5+ mph on Randy and Steve and with a third place they need to win the next two and gain as much time as possible.

Great race guys, was hoping to see you running in rough water, hopefully Friday will hold different waters and let the equalizer kick in..

Pretty equal conditions today. Neither of the Extremes are set up like the fast Phantoms so the calmer conditions did not give either an advantage. Based on what I saw, Typhoon was a tick faster as they burned off fuel and actually caught SunPrint twice but Gary slammed the door both times. I will bet Reggie's ace is chapped right now, which usually means utter destruction is in store for the competition on Friday, provided the Fountain team does not miss their set up again. Doubt that will happen twice in a row but it sure makes for a fun Friday!

11-10-2010 05:42 PMWil Smith was there, chatted with him a bit.
He said Pirate lost their steering and had to pull out. Too bad, I know Dave and Travis were looking forward to this race.
Also heard Doc and Brian were heard popping on the limiter quite often. So they may have had the setup wrong as Mike thought.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

So, what is the consensus on why the Fountain was so slow yesterday? Prop? Gear? Hurt motor?
