What other Sabers are planning on being at the Shootout this year?? I'll be there and I plan on running my boat again. We have rented a house at Captain Ron's so we are literally in the middle of everything!! (I can walk out of the house and be at the drivers meeting) So if anyone is planning on attending let me know so we can hook up for a cold one!!

Not that I would actually be bringing a Saber this year but man I've been wanting to go to the shootout so bad for a long time !! It wouldn't take me much to hop in the truck & do a kamakazi turnaround for 1 day.. I just done a mapquest & its right around 680mi one way so it would take lots of red bull..

That stuff usually hits me about as hard as a good glass of water.. However the 6hr power reminds me of heading north through Atlanta a year or so ago & of course I decided after a long day to pop the top on one about 10min before getting into the heart of town.. Well long story short and after some intense sweating I felt as if i was gonna pass out and puke at the same time.. Still not real sure what happened on that one !! haha.. Moral of the story: There's just no substitute for good ole adrenaline !!

You ought to make a weekend out of it!! We have a place rented right at Captain Rons but I don't know how many people we have staying with us. But there are plenty of places around to stay..

I emailed Doug and told him he should send me some banners and hand outs to pass out, heck our place in smack dab in the middle of everything!!! If you show up, between the both of us we could probably sell a couple of new 28's!!

We are staying at Captain Rons and if you look at this map the exsisting houses are marked in grey...

Call Captain Ron's and ask them if they have any of their places open...

Other than that I'd say try one of the rental places that rents out condo's (at the Lake of the Ozarks) and ask them for something close to the shootout.

I called the old Horney Toad place ( OSS race site last year),,
changed name to "Camden on the Lake",,, they still had rooms yesterday.
They were promoting specials,,,,,, with a dock!!

The "Old Horney Toad" is about 25 miles by H20, and 45 min by car.
It is under new management and typically the center of the Poker Run and the "Skater Fest" this year.

There are alot of small resorts and places to secure lodging and docking on the lake,,,,
From Lone Oaks, LakeView Resort to the Tan Tara Marriot Resort
