Last year in St Clair we ran the Class 6 - SVL on the shorter 4 mile course and then the faster boats in the second race ran on the longer 7 mile course.
Well, the folks in St Clair loved the shorter course and have asked us to run all the races and all classes this year on the 4 mile course.
So come prepared with your short course set up in all classes. It should lead to some very tight compitition.
See ya in St Clair!

I was able to find the packet from lasts years event, which includes the course location of the short course. I don't know if there is a 2010 packet in existence.

07-07-2010 09:08 PMI dont want to post but: We just did a race on a short 4.8 mile course in VL in Cumberland and it was a blast. Had a dog leg with a sweeping turn and a sharp turn. I liked it. I would think the fans of St. Clair would love to see the whole race from the park. The big boats may have something to say about 25 laps and no way to air out there boats for max speed. Over all I like racing and not getting stuck in a train. Go for it OPA !!!!!

Are we going to be able to settle the boat traffic down and have safety for testing too?

Hi Ryan, The Coast Guard has approved the closure of the river for both days. There will be full coarse testing on Saturday. All boats will run the shortened coarse. We tried it last year with the smaller boats, it was a great show. We will run Four races during the day. Congrats of the big turnout in Sarasota in SS. Great to see the numbers back. Smitty

07-08-2010 12:18 PMOne question Ron, can you bring the boats a little closer to the shore on the North leg along the park and grandstands? We were all a long way out.
We all ended up following Tyler through the infield after the first lap, but that 100 yds he saved we could never make up......Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

there are a couple places on gratiot? between st claire and port huron. Think it was a super 8 that Jim and I used last year..quick drive, decent place and pretty reasonable.
