On a 200 Merc outboard, it is sucking too much air when in gear, revs fine in nuetral. last time I had this problem the mechanic replaced the Diaphram on the fuel pump and it was fine.

Port side of the motor, follow the fuel lines, and pulse hose in and out of a square box, diapragm is inside the box, easy rebuild, do it yourself.

Thanks Rick, I dug out my my manual (which covers every motor Merc makes) and found it, now I'll have to see if West Marine or Murray Marine is open today. I am so close to having a turn key boat I could scream !

It is an easy fix, if they don't have it, BAM(marc) will. If ya ever need some help with outbords, I am not that far away, plus an excuse to visit the keys is always welcome
