    Bravo 3X shifting problem
    #1
I recently purchased my first Bravo 3 boat and dry shifted it a number of times. Later read that's a no no. Well started boat yesterday on the trailer and its stuck in neutral--won't shift into forward or reverse. What damage have I done and how do I correct it. Thanks

My first guess would be shifter cable.

First things to check on the cable would be.

Trim the drive out and turn wheel to the left. You be able to see the cable. Check to make sure the outer sleeve has not separated from the crimped end. If that and the sleeve appears to be in good shape take the end of the cable off the stud in side at the engine and check to make sure the end has not come loose from the core.

Mobilemercman: Wouldn't the cable be encased in the boot. Are you suggesting that I remove the boot or are you referring to a visual inside the boat? Thanks... Bill

Visual where it enters the drive from the bellows and cable end inside at shift bracket assembly.
