What's your idea of the perfect PERFORMANCE boat?

I capped "PERFORMANCE" just so that the popular center console's aren't referenced in this particular thread. I think they're sweet boats as well, but not true performance boats.

I think I'd have to personally vote for either a Cigarette 39 Unlimited with 700's, or maybe a similar sized Outerlimits with 700's? I like the Nortech vee's, but just haven't grown into loving the 39 model they build yet.

Obviously I love cats, and plan to have one well into the future, but if I had to have the perfect performance boat, a vee would probably be the way to go for me.

Brandon the 39 with 700's is a great boat. Enough power to be fun but, not so much to be a burden. It would be my pick if I could afford it. Clean, classic lines.

A 38 Fountain fever ranks high on my list too.

An Outerlimits SV43 with 700's. Sit down boat, bad ass looking, removable canopy, 120mph, great in the rough and has a usable cabin! Here's one with 1075's for sale.

I think that ultimately I would like to end up in a reliably powered 50 Nortech V.

I will admit though that the BIG Cats really draw me. Like that 55' that is in the OSO classifieds. It has a useable cabin and a bed which is important. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o30614-en.html

    42 Outerlimits.

Sexy shape, luxurious cabin with creature comforts such as A/C, V-Berth, Head, etc, plus it has a deep cockpit and will do 100mph with 700s.

    Man, you've got that right.

I was just curious to see of anyone had though about which boat would have the MOST options they would want, all in one boat.

I think that NXT/700 package is a universal choice, no matter which brand of boat you put them in. 38+ to 42ish length, is a pretty good size for towing, storage, using by yourself, or having a bunch of friends join you out there, without having a total hoss to deal with when you don't have 5-6 people to help out.

There are just SO many nice ones out there these days, that I wondered what everyone else's taste would be these days, given the choice.

Up here the issue is size.

Seriously, the big lake can get very rough. When we are out in the 24, you can get the holy crap beat out of you when it kicks up.

If you are out in anything 26' or larger, all of Spring Lake becomes No Wake. Takes forever to get around. So, it's nice to take the 24 vs one of the bigger ones if that's the destination. And it is a very popular one.

Trailering the 39 or 43 is a pain. Have to worry about the beam.

a 42 OL legacy with 850's i like the performance with reliable power (and can run 87 if i get stranded) center steer, walk around deck, flat transom (so i can see the hardware) side by side bolster with a 3rd drop in, rear triple bolsters, extended sunpad, that about sums up the one boat for the rest of my life wish list...... now multiple boats 388 skater with merc 1300's 36-40 CC trip outboards 45-50 express cruiser would make a sweet dock...and a small 110 mph flat bottom or rocket outboard for quick morning blast
