I think Florida does more poker runs then the bikers here in Chicago do LOL

There are some great runs all over the country. With all that has happened over the past few years I have to bang the safety drum.

We are all stewards and share responsibility for the future of virtually unregulated performance pleasure boating. I would ask all participants, sponsors, and event organizors to evalutate the events you participate in.

Check out a few things or ask some basic questions:

Does the event organizor have insurance?
It the event permitted or vetted by proper authority?
Is a proper safety management system in place and properly administered?

Now with your pragmatic hat on define "Poker Run"

To the legislator, news reported, or vocal minority it is many things. When one small "Poker Run" with the greatest intentions has bad incident or situation occur, we all may very well pay the price. Please support events that look out for our long term interests.

I second you Brad. We need to all make sure that these runs are being put together and ran with the highest level of percaution and safety planning as possible. First and foremost for the saftety of all participants.

I recently had my carrier that was insuring runs for a great price tell me that they were no longer willing to insure the events....

Let's all push to keep the events safe and fun for all!
