04-10-2010 03:20 PMI'd like to see something that could be a step towards reasonable cat insurance rates. Maybe you guys could use small power since your previous hulls seem very efficent.

How about a 40 Outboard? It's enough boat to go in any water, yet the outboards should be significantly lighter and cheaper. Yes, you won't get the speed of a 40 Skater with a pair of Sterlings, but the market for those boats is much smaller. I myself would be interested in something like this. And I can imagine the insurance would be significantly cheaper as well.

04-10-2010 10:48 PMused to be max of 40' for supercat-750 & max 42' for 850sc. but i think that from what i read and understand that OSS and the piston supercat classes are going to try to group all the piston classes together. it'll be interesting to see how biloxi goes!
steve, what exactly are you guys doing and where. i haven't been able to follow all these different threads, so could you clarify for me exactly what your up to.
are you in business or just making one off boats for fun? whats the story?

Sometimes they state in the rules the boat must be from a mold/molded and then say how many built before allowed to race ,I have not followed the rules here in a while and would have to check ,overseas it is different.
I do consulting work also and have designed a line of Diesel Patrol boats (Cummings powered Cats)we are going to market ,the race stuff took me all over and will never forget where I came from ,nowadays have a "creative" 10 meter race boat that needs to be built and Steve 2 has some nice looking boats from 22 to 45 feet we will take it one day at a time maybe put the T-4 Bottom under a New Vee Bottom who knows.
I want to thank everyone here for being so nice.Slippery when wet. PODLESS TUNNEL www.cheetahcat.com ,Repairs, Modifications and Truing Cheap reliable speed.
