I bought this last night out of a guy's backyard. I wanted the motor which is a 1985 Mercury 75HP.

I don't have a title for the boat.
    I can't find a HIN.
I have no idea what kind of boat it is.
I estimate it to be built in the mid-1980s.

Yes, it needs some work; and it does have some rot. I bought it with no intentions of putting it in the water.

I have not tried to start it yet.

I am just curious to find out what the hull is right now.

    177" overall length
74" wide at it's widest point
25" wide tunnel that pretty much flattens out at the back with a massive hook in the back of the hull.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

I think we have it narrowed down to a 1969 Glastron Carlson Challenger 16'; over on S&F.

    WAY older than I expected.

In the future all you have to do is ask me.....

If I were you I would re measure the length because the Carlson Challenger was actually 16 feet long and the Contender was 14 feet as I recall. They did make a longer version at 18 feet as I recall. Now as to the age..... That hull bebuted in 1964 and reached the height of its short lived popularity within about 2 years. By the time Carlson hooked up with Glastron (1968 or so) the hull was obsolete (it was a bad design to begin with), and Art actually put a full tunnel bottom on later models. Every one I ever saw had metalflake gel coat.

Be careful, the trailer looks kind of small for that thing.

    It is blue metal flake.

The trailer is borrowed from a friend with a ski boat that is kept on a lift.

You should have seen me trying to maneuver it into the barn last night with the two other boats, 2 trucks, and a bunch of other crap; with the John Deere garden tractor.

I can't believe it did not come with a lanyard either.

I plan to make it green.

Either by selling it for cash...

...or putting it the front yard as a planter!

A bow guard, and a side rail guard.
