Heres a project thread to show you what has been done to my boat so far.

Got the boat from miami and I never actually saw the boat with my own eyes before it got to sweden. A bit of a risky deal so to speak.

Heres a couple of pictures from Miami and then a few pictures when I picked it up a couple of days before christmas 2009.

Currently Im working to re-install all the components in the engine bilge so I can install the engine in a couple of weeks.

Tons of work to do and the boat is supposed to hit the water within 3 months..

    More updates to come...

Feel free to comment anything and Im open for suggestions if you think Im doing something completely wrong.
The reason Im redoing the bolsters myself is that I cant afford to buy new ones right now.
There are also a few marks and scratches on the hull paint but Im not going to fix that now, I want to use the boat this summer so Im just putting it together so it works. There isnīt enough time to fix everything on the boat right now so I will fix the rest next winter.

    Freddan,
Boat looking great! I believe yours is actually a Scorpion not a Carrera (even though they are kind of the same...Carrera came first). I think the guy who redid the boat painted "Carrera" on the side. If the boat is truly a 1985 model, it's a Scorpion. Hull I.D. on transom (if you can still see it) should start w/ the letters "SOP". Keep up the good work! Looks awesome!

    Thanks!

That is some interesting information! I will check the hull I.D. for sure, if its a scorpion - then it is a scorpion and not a carrera. I want to be sure of this so Iīll check the I.D. as soon as I can.

If someone has seen my boat in the Miami area and has some information about the boat or its previous owners, feel free to contact me or write something about it in this thread.

The guy who redid the boat was located in Homestead, FL. I think his name was Freddie. He had a few Carrera/Scorpions. Someone else on here might know something. I had a 1988 24 Scorpion and a 1985 also...tough boats!

Scorpion it is! Carrera built the 24 from about 1977-1984. In 1985 Julio Deverona got the molds and built under Scorpion. Scorpion built the 24 from 1985-1989. Scorpion then went out of business. They came back around 1996 for a year or two. Not sure if they built any 24s in 1996 or 1997, but I know they still had them, because I was at there shop in 1997 looking to buy a new one...wish I would have. After that I heard the molds ended up in Texas, but were in bad shape. Haven't seen any since. Look at the video posted of Frank's Marine in Key West, FL 1995. That boat is a 1989 and one of about six built that year. That's the reason I bought one...Frank's Marine was the baddest Scorpion I've seen run! Here's a pic of my old 1988 24 Scorpion.
