For our first Lake Travis splashdown we decided to just keep it simple with me bringing the girl on the left
and Bobby brought his standby Steffi
The boat ran good and all in all everything went smoothly considering the unfamiliar waters.
A couple observations:
Saw some pretty reckless boat operation given the tighter confines of the lake compared to Lake Michigan... That's going to take some getting used to.
And my anchor didn't seem to wanna grab in Devil's Cove.
What kind of anchor do most people use? What's the depth in there?Unstoppable f'n terror.

I use a Large Box Anchor. It works well in Lake Travis. You only need about 100 feet of anchor line for Devil's Cove. However, you will need over 150 feet for Hippie Hollow. Originally Posted by baddogz28

For devils cove with the lake full if your toward center of cove you'll need 150ft of rope otherwise you'll end up dragging anchor like 90% of the people out there do when wind whips up.
