I had them on a skidloader.
I read an article about them a while back. It said they wouldn't be available to the public anytime soon. Aren't they called a tween or tweel or something and made by michelin? I wonder if they would cause more wind noise?

I spoke to Michelin rep @ sema a couple years ago about these. The only equipment to mount these on the wheels in the country is in ga. Seemed like a pretty complicated process and expensive equipment. Like trimmed said you won't be seeing these on the road anytime soon.

Those exact same pics are probably 6+ years old. The technology just never took off.

The only upside to idea would be that they are puncure resistant. Just like the equipment tires, they would most likley wear at the same rate as any other tire. What happens when you throw the cap at speed? I also wouldnt want to be the guy traveling next to theese tires when they decide to spit out a #4 sized piece of stone or other road debris.

I think it was a concept thing. Several manufacturers are equipping vehicles with run-flat's that seem to be working out well.

As far as a sidewall, I'm guessing what they're showing is for display purposes. There would be no conceivable reason they couldn't be molded with a flexible sidewall- just like a pneumatic tire.

The free air thing is about like being on a raft in the middle of the ocean and dying of dehydration. It's water, but just not the water you need.
