I've been using Webshots for storing my photos but today I got a message saying that the site is not safe and contains viruses that can allow people to see data on your computer and that they recommend it not be used. The message popped up while I was linking to an image there. Does anyone know more about this? I guess I will switch to Photobucket at least for now.

01-26-2010 10:18 AMDon't know about webshots, but I use Zenfolio and it's great. Don't know how much you store, but I can give you a referral number and save you like 5 bucks if you decide to buy a package, they have free ones too.

Google (called Picasa):
1 GB free for uploads, 7G free on email
20 GB ($5.00 USD per year)
80 GB ($20.00 USD per year)
200 GB ($50.00 USD per year)
400 GB ($100.00 USD per year)
1 TB ($256.00 USD per year)
2 TB ($512.00 USD per year)
4 TB ($1,024.00 USD per year)
8 TB ($2,048.00 USD per year)
16 TB ($4,096.00 USD per year)
I have the 20G + what they give me for free- can't go wrong for $5
Using 0.8 GB (2%) of 27.2 GB
I can link pics or albums, provides copyright protection, can have albums for the public/hidden/password protected, can email pics directly to it and it saves it in an album, etc

01-28-2010 08:36 AMI would also suggest Zenfolio. I use it as my hosting site for my images & my web address. They have several different tiers. As Ted said, there are discounts for referrals, but overall the pricing is quite fair. For I don't use photobucket anymore, b/c it compresses images, and makes em look like ****, when sharing em on forums. Another alternative is Flickr, which is free, or paying the $25 for a Pro Acct, and having unlimited storage.
Here is a link to the Zenfolio Pricing System: http://www.zenfolio.com/zf/pricing.aspx
I have the $40 Unlimited Acct. Max upload file size is 12MB for everything but the $100 Pro Acct, which allows up to 24MB files

Thanks, Eaton Photos. I will choose a new photo hosting site soon.
