Offshore Racing wasn´t designed to be a spectator sport, it's for people or companies with's lots of money to push the envelope of endurance technology and hopefully put a trophy on a mantle. It's man vs the elements, not like boats with like engines running in circles.

I've owned a half dozen or so Sutphens and have seen tons of them. I've never seen one with a surface drive and only heard about one.

Most Sutphen's back in the day were built with Kaamas. From 30-38ft. It was a very popular set up. Richie is the man to talk to!

Right On, a buddy of mine up here in Maine, screen mane I'CE, has a sweet 34 Sut w/ KAAMA's and another friend had a beautiful 30 KAAMA Ocean Pacer on Winnipesaukee. All mid 80's boats.

Hey Dan, Happy New Year to you and Dad.

Kaamas and Arnesons-both are preferred according to that Gentleman...we also talked how he gets away with the 26 degree V without loosing any ground to others and the ride in heavy chop..well let´s say we hit it off in our 2 hours of continous talk about blueprinting the bottom and such.
    Agreed to 100% on Everything.

Aren't we discussing boats in the 20-foot range? Or do we want to pull turbines, rudders, cats over 50' and whatever else in here too?

What is up with Donzi now? I see comments that they are not building boats at all now,but saw a recent press release from them that they are doing well. They are not listed in the Miami show for 2010. My favorite personal boat was an 18 Classic, will one day find another one.I liked it better than the 22.

I think they mothballed the 16-18-22 molds for the time being unless a sold order steps up... they are definately building 35 and up.. not positive about 26-29-32-35 center console boats..

Fastboats is advertising 2010 models.......I think 2009 model year was a total wipe out for Donzi.
