In a move designed to meet customer needs, expand the customer base, open new markets and respond positively to market conditions, Shogren Performance Marine announces the addition of Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats to its existing lines of Fountain and Baja Powerboats. The Waukegan, Illinois-based dealership is also introducing a “fresh look,” with a new logo that reflects its broader product offerings.

“Nor-Tech is a premier boat brand known for its craftsmanship. It also has a reputation for integrity—a quality our customers have come to expect from us and our priority at Shogren Performance Marine,” said owner Scott Sjogren.

For the past five years, Shogren Performance Marine has earned the honor of ‘The World’s Largest Fountain Dealership,’ a title Sjogren says he is not ready to relinquish, adding, “This move allows growth opportunities for both Shogren Performance Marine and our customers. We now offer three brands of vee-bottom boats as well as the full line of Nor-Tech performance catamarans and the Super 80 Performance Sport Yacht. In addition to broadening our customer base it gives our existing customers ‘someplace to go,’” he said. The company may add other performance brands in the future.

Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, based in North Fort Meyers, Florida, is well established along the Eastern seaboard, primarily selling factory-direct and through a limited dealer base, including a dealer in Canada. “It makes a lot of sense for us to partner with ‘Team Shogren,’ and it will open a new market for us,” said Nor-Tech Director of Sales and Marketing Terry Sobo, “They have an established customer base, a successful track record and have managed to stay above the fray in the performance boat industry.”

Sjogren describes Nor-Tech’s boats as “big for their size,”--roomier and more comfortable than comparably-sized vessels, adding, “The craftsmanship and attention to detail is impeccable. Nor-Tech is a solid company and is easy to work with. Of course, being Norwegian helps,” he said, referring to his shared heritage with Nor-Tech owners Trond Schou and Nils Johnsen.

“We are on track for a record sales year in 2009 with Fountain Powerboats,” Sjogren said, “and we are looking forward to another one in 2010. The addition of the Nor-Tech line is the right move at the right time for our customers and our business.”

The new Shogren Performance Marine logo “Identifies us more as an offshore boat dealership and less as a single brand dealership,” Sjogren said.

Shogren Performance Marine is a premier, niche high-performance boat destination that offers Mercury-certified service technicians; a climate-controlled 55,000 square foot, indoor sales environment and a reputation for the highest integrity in offshore boating sales and service.

Even taking on Norwegian nicknames- now that is customer service!!

Congrats on taking on Nor-Tech. Nice to know all the hard work you put in and investing in your new facility is paying off. The business model for boats in the showroom has been tanking but I for one am glad you are growing. I was not looking forward to the only place I could look at new boats being the few boat shows that survive..

Good luck with the new brokerage as well!
