Actually depending on the distance between shore and the Gulfstream, it might of even been a disadvantage, considering how the flow is on the edge of a current.
I doubt it would represent a whole lot in a 45 minute trip (my guess is less than 0.5 mph which on 45 minutes means a little more than a 1/4 mile), but if your in a trawler or a sailbot it does. This is why you alwasys see those rag boats on the edges of rivers when they are going up current at their blistering a 4 knots...

no 1.1/2 to 2 hours.. in a speeder ,,,it must have been pretty rough,,,

i,m willing to bet Scott B can do it in 25 min or less...godsssake 50' boat 3000 hp,,,and it runs 175 mph,,,,its only approx 75 miles...
