What Dominator(s) Do You Like for marine?
    #1
    OK,
I'm going to switch to Doms for my 588s.
I understand the 8082-1 works very well for this and I can get a pair very reasonable.
Is there a lot of massaging to be done with these?
    Any other recommends?
    Thanks,
    Dave

I have similar sized motors. I use Nickerson massaged 1250s. They did a fantastic job.

All 4500 Holleys are known as Dominators but I think Nordicflame asked which ones so the answer would be quite simple, 1050cfm Marines ( only Marine 4500īs) as base and go from there.

    http://www.holley.com/types/Marine%2...nator%20HP.asp
    Compare;
    Marine:http://www.holley.com/0-80340-1.asp
    Auto: http://www.holley.com/0-8082-1.asp

you can do the change by yourself but thereīs a liability risk as a 8082-1 isnīt a approved Marine carb.
Offshore Racing wasnīt designed to be a spectator sport, it's for people or companies with's lots of money to push the envelope of endurance technology and hopefully put a trophy on a mantle. It's man vs the elements, not like boats with like engines running in circles.

    Dave,
Sorry for not following up on the other thread as we have been very busy with other projects. With the Pro Systems 1050 carb on the 572 project we have picked up 40 HP and 38 TQ so far with some jet changes. Tomorrow we are going to get with Pat on some metering changes to even out the fuel numbers and play with timing. The carbs pat sent are 3 meter and I have been reading in some posts on OSO that they are not the preferred carbs for marine and the 2 meter preferred, I will ask him about this tomorrow also. Brian

    Thanks Brian,
That's a great increase considering you already had the good intake setup. I'm thinking I should see that or better beings I am currently running the smallish Merlin 4150 intake with my 4150 carb.
Patrick told me that they see no reason to give up tunability by eliminating the 3rd circuit even if they only use it a tiny bit which he does.
I sure like the new looks!
    Thanks,
    Dave

DAVE if you have the time call DEAN GELLNER AT 216 398 8500 , he has a special intake that he ports with a custom carb 1050 or bigger that makes some real nice power over stock intakes like dart or merlin ,ect, I am doing this set up for my 509 which had a nickerson 1050 and Dart the new set up should be much better, I DIDN'T LIKE MY NICKERSON 1050. THE NEW ONE Dean had done by CFM is incredible its show and go and better priced than my nickerson.the intake is even better more TQ and HP then the above mentioned also doing custom carbs on the 572 blower motor for the SABER hull. if you don't at least take to DEAN you have missed the boat when it comes to carb /intake set up .

    Not sure yet Baja27,
Won't know for a few weeks but I'm not expecting any significant gains over the 4150s but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised

Its 2010 big Stuff 3 with some 160lb injectors. No need to worry about anything. Better drive ability around the docks and temp change has no effect on them. Jus sayn
