Anything that Reggie and Ben "saw" should be declared a record without question, timing lights, or a sanctioning body.

Thats too easy.. It needs to be an average of opposite directions.

I agree. You have to replicate the results for two reasons: (1)eliminate any nuances in the measuring equipment, and (2) to factor our any gains/losses from weather (wind/tide).

Sanctioned, GPS, radar, etc all in place- just the absolute highest recorded as the record. The lowest of the devices used with a minimum of 2 or 3 with no more than a 1% or whatever is normal deviation.

I mean going under bridge and gaining 10MPH is one thing- saying within reason of what they are running. Like 2-3% max- like 170 could be 172 but not 179

I did not get into that much detail with him Jim there was a lot of work that needed to be done from what I could see.
