I haven't seen one but it would definitely be possible for a jet boat or v-drive. The caddy motors have the Buick, Olds, Pontiac bolt pattern and alot of the old jet boats used olds 455's. The 500 caddy's are cool motors. Big hp and torque but don't weigh much more than a SBC. A buddy of mine is running a bone stock caddy in a camaro witha 350hp nitrous shot and it is holding up fine, so far anyway. I have one sitting in the garage that I am going to do something with, just not sure what yet.

About a decade ago, Indmar marinized the Caddy Northstar.

In years past, Oldsmobile engines were marinized quite frequently for jet boat type applications.

50 years ago there was a Cadillac marine engine available, but rare. They found their way into Hackers, Chris Crafts, etc.

Why alter a historical boat? Especially with a powerplant from a different era?

Always thought that they were a cool set up. I even have a few catalogs from years ago with performance parts. A couple suppliers got bought up and rolled into the site linked above. They had exhaust adapters for marine use at one time.

Just a thought.....My customer is real into keeping the boat period correct..

I really just needed more info on the motor to see if it was a good buy or not....

I could buy the engine complete injection, engine mounts, bell housing ,exhaust manifolds etc..Looks to be a marinized 6.0 liter chevy with cadilac emblems..Brand new package for 4000.00$...Might be worth just buying...

So it is the Northstar motor, not the old caddy? Disregard everything I said then.

They also did a Cad 6.0 Vortec.

Either way it's going to be an orphan with challenging parts/service availability.

Not 100% sure...but I think Malibu did a short run with them too.

If it's a "brand new" GM 6.0 it's either the LQ9 out of the trucks, which is same/similar to "GM Marine Vortec 6.0"....or it could be the 6.0 out of a CTS-V. BUT, seeing as how the price is $4k, your money is on it being the LQ9/Marine engine which is just the new LS-x small block. Is it iron block/aluminum heads, with a black composite intake?

Now, about those real 500ci Caddy engines, what's the deal with those? There's a '70s 'vert for sale with a 500ci in it, and somebody else is selling a 500ci Caddy engine. What are the specs and are they worth something to somebody?
