If it was in my budget, I'd have one (or two) of these bad boys behind me right now. At the Miami show, Ilmor said that they had hoped to have some on the water about now, and with the ads starting to appear in the magazines, I'm wondering if any have been spotted "on the street" yet.
I'd love to see a heads-up comparison between the 700/NXT and the 725/Indy packages.

Well I hate to hijack this thread but I have been shopping around and asking questions today about the IMCO SCX drives. I planning ahead knowing that I will probably have a drive failure on my XR's with 825 HP per side. Does anyone here have any experience yet with the SCX? It looks like about $27.5K per pair with new helmets and cables. That is cheap compared to breaking XR's but very expensive if they don't hold up.
What is the price of the Ilmor's?God Bless America

Turns out the BS has already started. There was a test with two Eliminators; one with Ilmor 725/Indys and the other with "700/NXT's". The problem is that the "700/NXT" boat had smaller blower pulleys and a reflashed ECM, giving more like 820 hp. Too bad it didn't get mentioned in the test report...
Look for units on the water in early/mid July. That's straight from Ilmor.

Chuck, the people who set up and sent the 700's to the test need to be "outed" their need's to be a sense of fairness in our world! we have moved to far in the wrong direction!!
Just my little thought for the day ,, Church is over !

Right up front: It was second-hand information to me from someone who doesn't want to rock the boat, he just wants a heads-up test where the facts can speak for themselves. I'm very pro-Ilmor, so I posted what I was told. There was no accusation that Mercury had anything to do with the modifications to the 700's, the beef is that those mods are not mentioned in the text of the article. I have not seen the article, but once it appears, I think we all deserve to hear from those who know their 700's if the pulleys appear stock (IF they are shown...). If it turns out that someone knows the test boat and can personally attest to it's being stock at the time of the test, I'll withdraw my post. On the other hand if that boat's speeds seem suspiciously fast, let's ask for another 700/NXT boat to match it.

OK - We've seen that the new OL 40GTX runs 115 with the 650/Indy package, but it's the first 40GTX, so there's nothing to compare it to. Does anyone else here have something in the works? There are supposed to be about 20 Indy engine/drive packages shipped at this point...

We are a few weeks away from seeing the 725's and indy's run. Will keep you posted. Unfortunately those will be going in a new model, so there is very little comparison info, but I was impressed with the 650's and indy's, so I am still excited.

Those numbers are based on the gen 3 Ilmor's, not the current 650's. And deffinately not the 725's
