    Strange but True (Radio Codes)
    #1
Just thought I would post this becuase it might help someone down the road.

Just changed the battery on a 2003 Acura TL 2.3 S-type Ive had sitting in the garage for quite some time now.

The radio code needed to be re-entered because the battery was disconnected. I was sure I had the correct code because I had the original Anti-theft ID card, same code written in my service manual and I went out to Acura's website and pulled the (same) code from there. However, it would not take.

I did a little internet search and found some guy's saying you need to disconnect the antenna and then enter the code. This doesnt make any sense to me nor did it to other members of this Acura site.

I looked to see if I could disconnect the antenna from behind / under the dash which wasnt going to happen. I pulled the car into my warehouse where I knew the reception was bad and then wrapped the antenna in aluminum foil. Punched the code and it worked. Why? I dont know and if I didnt see it myself I would not have believed it.

Not sure why this works but something to try if you ever have a problem like this.

You can fix anything with duct tape, and with tin foil you can make it safe from the alien probes too....
