I would say maybe 1/2 in hose. You absolutely should check pick up tube size and fitting sizes. My guess is 1/4 pipe. You may find id as small as 5/16 or1/4 inch. If you have an anti syphon valve on pick up remove it and replace with gate valve. Coast guard requires one or the other.

You could wait and see if you scatter your engine before you check. Pretty easy to address before you install engine.

I remember years ago a customer bought a 24 firefox cig. It had blown its 500 hawk power twice before he bought it. It had 1/4 pipe on pick ups.
It doesnt much matter how big a pump or how many boost pumps you add if the bottle neck is in the tank.

I remember my engine guy immediately removing my standard pickups on the tank I had made and putting in these freaking enormous pickups with huge fittings/valves. Probably the ID size of a big water hose. 3/4??

    Seems to work.

USCG type 1 hose is thick. I would guess 5/8.

Yes, very important. Your guy did you right.

Gonna have to see how to do the pickup, everything else is easy.....

Ordered a starter, head mounted oil filter setup and the fuel pump today, also using a new oil cooler

Ian (Patriyacht) left his thermostats off of his coolers, and we run similar power (at least at the time we did, I heard he repowered) and run similar water temps so I left mine off too. I wonder if that was a mistake, or if I really needed coolers for my use. He runs them pretty hard because it is a big ass boat. I don't push them that hard, because it hasn't been necessary. I cruise a lot at 3000-3200. But I have twins. I go above 4000 every time I go out, but I don't spend hours there. My problem seems to be keeping temp. Not shedding it. That lake is cold for a long time. And then it is like 70 degrees. Ian runs his at like 5600.

Since we are riding you about fuel pickups and spending your money, we should mention oil system. Be vigilant against bottlenecks there too. Like small AN remote filter blocks, oil cooler fittings, etc. We caught a couple things before we went live in mine. Remote filter block, maybe? Been too long. You probably have that covered.

Oils covered... Just have to make the lines... This is so out of control... It was supposed to be a little bump and be able to use the oem fuel/ oil/ignition stuff etc.... Not so much anymore. Take the initial budget quadruple it and add some more.....

Fund its important to create heat in the oil to steam the moisture out. Engines that run cool in cold water tend to accumulate moisture. Usually shows in valve cover caps.

I don't last but a few minutes at 32 3400. Just as long as it takes to clear the skiers and such headed to main basin. Then I try as hard as i am capable to cruise at 44 4600. Inevitably I find myself at 5000. Good news is I have learned to keep her off wot all day. Well most days anyway.
