One step forward, 2 miles back.

Pulled the boat today and was cleaning the bottom when I noticed a 4 inch by 3 foot section of my bottom GONE. The same place on the other side is ready to go too. Looks like too much time and too much bouncing on the old trailer that didnt fit the boat stress cracked the gel coat to the point its coming off. Called Dave and he was over within the hour crawling under it. Couple grand and about a month and he said it would prolly pick up a couple miles and hour because of the waves and hook in the bottom. So it should be nice next season, this season is shot. At least I got one weekend of use out of it.

Ah man, that sucks. I know how it feels.

Did Dave talk about the potential of broken tabbing or any gremlins on the inside of the boat?

A lot of stress cracks are no big deal, but are part of a larger issue, like broken tabbing allowing the flex.

And by the way, a month is August 19. Some of my best rides have taken place between August 15 and October 1.

My avatar pic was September 28, 2012. Ran to and around PIB and then to Maumee Bay State Park. Lunch at the Boardwalk. Great day.

    Just throwing that out there.

he said that could be a possibility if I was nice to it. I'm not nice to it and I like to run hard. 70 on lake washing machine with a band aid bottom makes me nervous,

DAve is going to grind and gel. I was thinking about doing the rest of the bottom myself.
