Good call not getting a dually.
He wasn't able to get the SRW truck completely in the guest parking space anyway.

Mine is 8500 pounds and 4x4. I don't notice snow ruts much.

I do notice a complete absence of sway when I am towing though.

That's cause you get no snow, (in comparison), so there are no big ruts.

    Holland Mi
In December, one in four years totals 33 inches or more of snow.
In January, fresh snowfall in the heaviest years amounts to over 31.4 inches.
In February over 26.4 inches in heavy snowfall years.

    Toledo Ohio
In December, one in four years totals ten or more inches of snow.
In January, fresh snowfall in the heaviest years amounts to over 18.3 inches.
In February over 14.2 inches in heavy snowfall years.

    Here's your record snowfalls:
2013-2014 winter, 84.8 inches of snow at Toledo Express Airport shattered the city’s old seasonal snowfall record, 73.1 inches from 1977-78.

Same year, Holland MI, (not an all-time record):
Snowfall totals for last winter 2013-2014, Holland - 153.1"
    All-time Record, 159.9 inches — 1969-1970

84 inches not enough to make ruts. Got it.

Heck, you only average 3 days per year where you get 3" of snow or more. That's not a rut, that's a dusting!!! We have more days than that where we get over 5" of snow on average......

Number of days per month and year on average in Toledo with a total snowfall of at least 3 inches

    1.0 January
    0.9 February
    0.5 March
    0.1 April
    0.0 October
    0.0 November
    0.5 December
    3.0 Year

I'm not going to argue with a guy and his internet searches about my own weather. I know how much snow we've had in recent years.
If you use the truck for snow, great.

I tow a boat with mine.

    Different strokes.

Actually, it was kind of fun digging into the snow stuff. I knew Holland had a lot, (not compared to upper Michigan), but thought Toledo was the same as Detroit. You actually have more than they do. (Nothing like the east end of Lake Erie though).

But yeah, the truck we have currently gets driven in snow much more often than it tows. Even before Terri got sick and we used the boats a lot, we had slips on Lake Macatawa where they stayed ready to use during the summer.

What hitch did you end up using? Did you find a 2 1/2" that was easily adjustable for height?
