I only have anecdotal, but a friend had a 2005 or 2006 F150 with the 5.4 and he liked it so much he turned around and got a 2007 or 2008 with the same 5.4.
He didn't tow much, but he did tow my boat on a couple of occasions during the restoration.

Look inside the door on Dodges for the manufacturing location. If it says Hecho in Mexico, run away.

I like Fords. I agree about interiors, my opinion is Ford has the best out of the American manufactures. You should check out the Canadian Autotrader. With the Canadian dollar at 68 cents to the American, great deals can be had. No duty on American made vehicles. Add in the mass lay offs in the oil industry, lots of trucks on the market there.

You can get a lot of parts, etc. cheap in Canada now. Vancouver for used stuff is the best place. Seldom snows in the lower mainland of Vancouver, no salt on the roads. Everything is cleaner. Less rust problems. The first example. The $13k U.S. is just over $19k CDN. You can almost get into a 2010 F150 for that in Canada.

I don't think it's that bad. Especially if the truck was manufactured in the US.

I only know of two Ford dealers in Vancouver, Dams and Coastal. Importing is fairly easy. Canada's crash and emission's standards are the same. Almost every vehicle here complies with DOT and EPA. That's the only difficult thing, make sure it complies with DOT and EPA. In compliance, its like importing groceries. Prices are very good, you get more bang for the buck.

Oh I forgot, last year I did stop into MSA for an oil change. They have a quick lube service. They told me they are done for the day at 10am. All the mechanics out back smoking cigarettes. Nobody there wanted to work. I wrote a bad yelp or google review on them.

Maybe you are confusing them with another dealer.
