When you run a straight edge off of the bottom of a stepped hull, shouldn't the edge span from the transom to the nearest step?

Yes, Jerry (46 Skater/Turbine) has it. Unfortunately, the diameter is too small. Jer said it's about 16.125 and I need about 16.750-17.

Our Jag had bladders when we bought it. The foam was decomposed and the new (never used) backup set was ditto. I called the bladder company and they said to replace them every three years.
