What could one expect to see with a 2005 or newer 288 MCOB with 650HP N/A.....mid 80's?
I would say that would be a fair guess. For reference.....
With Stock 496 - Seeing 66 to 68 mph
With Stock 525 - Seeing 80 to 82 mph (Typically 570hp at crank with good tuning)
The one whippled 525 MCOB I've read about (approaching 800HP) - Barely breaking 90mph
Good info, been thinking more and more of getting one and curious of what to expect. I currently have a Raylar HO 600 which I would keep for future boat that dyno'd @ 660. How stable is this boat with the power and how do they react to say an extension box or IMCO shortened lower as I also have both I would like or can use on future boat. I have asked similar question on the Sunsation forum with limited response.
I doubt very much anyone has tested the maximum limits of the design with extensions and shorties.
I'll do some checking and searching.....
Have you called Charlie up at Mohopac? He says the whippled one handled great at 90...
From the Sunsation forum....
