Now I get it. You're right, if it comes apart you're having a really bad day.
Because it was going through teak, did you have to pre-drill every hole?
Yes, I did have to pre drill every hole. It made for a fun afternoon. I origanally bought 50 screws thinking that would be plenty. 14 screws short. Back to the store for more stainless!
Wow, not a lot of fun...
So, what's next on your restoration?
I am working on the second engine. I want to put it on the run stand. Also, I am getting the Mag ready for the first engine to be installed. I have to make some return lines from the bulkhead to the filler tubes. Then install the water seperators and primer pump for my fuel injection. Once the engine is in the boat, I need to make some return lines from the engine to the bulkhead. Connect the fuel supply lines and I think I will be ready to run her in the boat. Then it's on to number two!
That should keep you busy for a day or two....:sifone:
Made and installed the return lines for the fuel injection under the back seat
Your shirts that match the boat deck are way cool. Sure makes it easy to walk up and say, "Are you Dirty Pearl?????"
Thanks, we loved the Air Brushing on the deck so much, we had to make it into a t shirt.
It was sure cool. I wish I had more time to chat there, but trying to get two boats ready to race, plus the parade, and the street party, etc didn't give me too much of an opportunity. I did love the subtle pics on the shirt. Made me do a double take right off the bat.
You saw our navigator Jeff up in Mich. The rest of the team were not able to attend. Still working on the Pearl.
Yep. First thing I asked him, after I asked are you the "Dirty Pearl" and introduced myself, is if the boat were there.
I managed to get the second motor fired up. She being a little more difficult than the first one, but she is running. I need to do some more fine tunning. Now I need to get the first one installed tin the Mag. Getting closer.
Both motors are running! Both are broke-in and dialed -in and ready to be installed.
Fantastic!
Sweet...
ANy chance any of you guys will be in Port Huron?
No, saving up to go to Key West. We will be spectators only. SBI has a new rule, anything Supercharged must run P-1. So no more SBI for us.
I just got my powder coating back on my oil filter brackets and H-Pipes. Looks great!
Working on the rear of the Port motor. Mounting coil, 50amp breaker, cannon plug, and starter relay.
Back working on the Magnum. Rounded and rolled the L brackets. Then I drilled some holes in the Motor Mount.
