Hello,
what will a 1 inch drive spacer do to the boat? I heard different opinions on this matter, one person said it will reduce slip on the prop and can make the boat faster and an other said it will do the oposit.
I would like to know.

usually a higher X-dimension means less drag and equals higher speed. Most newer boats have a high X-Dem. What kind of Boat do you have and what year? Is it a ventilated hull? There are a lot of variables to finding the proper drive height.
It is an old ( 1990 ) straight V hull, with a notch at the transom and no steps.
I do think i am very high on the X dimension and the prop is getting to much air ?
Check with others who have the same make boat and ask what there X-dem is. My Donzi's X-dem if I recall is about 3.5"
It all depends on your setup. Is your boat a factory setup? Pleasure or race boat?
What propellers are you currently running?
It is a home built set up with a #6 and cleaver style prop.
Cheapest change would be a spacer. I've had success with them before.
Thank you all. I will post the result!
