I like that design for the t-shirt. You get a lot of stuff for $99 with dock and dinner poker runs free.
is there any place near by to launch at? any boats under 30' going?
Chris edge water is close nice ramp. We've left our truck and trailer there overnight lots of times when we docked at old river. I wouldn't trust overnight parking at 72nd st. Lakeside will have a place to park at I think that will be secure. We might trailer over too from Vermilion Haven't decided yet.
Joe if it gets rough you can ride with us, you were pretty lucky last time you guys went with us we can make the same deal, split your winnings.
There is a few within a few miles from Lakeside. Edgewater on the west side, Wildwood, E.76ST
Here is a link to zoom in: http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/website/w...es2/viewer.htm
Hi Guys - I'm Dave. the LYC liason working with SKramer to host this animal. I launch my 35' Cig at Edgewater - best slope, ramp docks are in decent shape, and 6 lanes. If you are going to trailer, I would really suggest that you plan on putting her in on Friday and getting your party on that night - Saturday morning is sure to be busy at the ramp with the fish people and nobody wants to go get the trailer after a full day on the water. Edgewater is easy to get to - just head West on 2 from Dead Man's Curve and follow the signs; by water LYC is at the other end (East) of the break wall; by road it is directly East on 2 (becomes 90 - exit at East 55th). If you plan on trailering, please register early and let us know you will need parking as the utility next to LYC will be trenching in our parking lot and we will need to make arrangements for secure parking.
Woo Hoo! cannot wait!
thanks guys!
sent check and registration form in today!
I'm not taking the Ice Breaker unless someone buys me a cake. :(
Well, the good news is that LYC doesn't shut the party down at midnight so no one will have an excuse for running off with it!!
Instead of cake, maybe pie?
So let say hypatheticaly a penguin and his bride were standing at the dock on the morning of the Weiner Run...............so you think they could fine a ride?
Okay, folks, the Weiner Run is just over 60 days away and the course is now set. First stop will be Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermillion (http://www.quakersteakandlube.com/vermilion_OH/). We have the entire dock reserved and Quaker Steak will be serving up a wing buffet and beer specials in its beer garden (reserved just for us).
Second stop will be at the new, private docks of Christies Cabaret in Cleveland (directly West of Shooters on Old River in Cleveland) (http://www.christiescabaret.com/clev....html) Christies will provide an outside bar and (clothed) girls on the deck; if that is not your thing, you can also stop/visit Shooters next door. Christies docks are off the river and will be reserved just for us.
Last stop will be back at Lakeside for dinner and a killer band (to be announced - stay tuned!!)
Penguin encounter 2010??
flippers
Thanks for the suggestion. We thought about a stop in Lorain this year. We are expecting 50+ boats and needed to ensure adequate dock space and service facilities for 200+ people. I think you will have a great time with the stops we have lined up and hope to see you there!! :cheers2:
I was by there today so I stopped in.
I talked with the owner Jim he said its not a problem to make it a stop.
They said they had a run come thru last year that had 40 something boats and no problems.
They have a long guest dock to raft off of and he said we could use the marina to if needed.
There is a alot more space there then Quaker for docking.
They can hold 200+ with no problems.
Just trying to add a stop thats in between.
Appreciate the input and we will look at it again for either the fall run or next year but we are locked in for April.
Sent my form in today, sounds like a good time. Question for the locals, due to proir plans I will be trailering down Saturday morning. Is there a launch facility that has safe overnight parking so I can just drop in and leave the truck/trailer there till Sunday? Even if it was a short run to Lakeside would be OK. Never been in the area so any info appreciated.
There is Edgewater park.
I have left my truck and trailer there overnight lots of times. I can't say its the greatest place but I have had no problems yet.
Try this link, Click on areial map and scroll to the right a little. The public ramps are just right of the big marina in the pic. If you keep going right a few miles just past the airport that is Lakeside Yacht club.

Call Lakeside Yacht Club, they may have room there. Also, they have an agreement with the neighbor Repo lot (Sailing Inc.). You can store your truck and trailer there, for a small fee, and it's secure... it's a boat repo lot. :) I used to store my trailer there all summer long... anytime access included.

Hey... one more thing... if you see a Penguin walking the streets... maybe looking a little hungry... toss him a ten spot. He's a good Penguin, just hit some hard times.
