Nice teaser in the mail. The know how to get you excited.
They will sell out quick!Love the look!!:)
The inspiration:
I have owened a total of 22 Camaro's from 67s to 71s my all time favorite cars and I have a plan...:drool5:...I love the looks of these and will have one . Its been long awaited I just wish they would hurry up and get it out.
Interior is not my favorite but the outside is hot.
I saw them out at SEMA and sat in one, i like it. I want to see how they actually wind up loking on the floor and the options. If its not what I want then i will get the SRT8 Challenger.
There were 2 at the Daytona 500 as pace cars this past weekend and they were very cool looking cars(yellow and grey), I had garage/pit passes and got close looks while the were sitting in the garage..but if I was going to lay my personal hard earned bucks down, I'd opt for the SRT Challenger, much closer parallel to the original 70's car than the Camaro.
I like the first run of them & the new one that is coming out.. The ones from the 80's & especially the 90's made me want to puke... The same thing with the mustangs... It's almost like Detroit finally realized the sacriledge of what it had done for the last 2 decades.. ;) :sifone: J
I like the side shot, it looks beefey and tough but the front and rear just look comical to me, the front grill just looks like a mean cartoonish face. The challanger looks more faithfully modernized while the camaro is more of an interpetation. It's just my opinion but the challanger has the 'classic' muscle car beauty, while the camaro looks like it has a saturday morning tv theme. I like the camaro concept, I just don't think it was executed well. the designers at GM seem to have a habit of taking a promising idea and screwing it up, contrbuting to the companies problems over the long term. Definitly a history there of making some ugly stuff..geolanders, aztecs etc.
Of all the Retro cars, I really think this one has the most appeal. Just looks great....
They had two at the car show here in Pittsburgh. The spokesgirl said that production starts in March and they should start hitting the showrooms in April. Time will tell if thats true. Looked really sharp. Especially the black SS they had
The difference between the Camaro/Stang and the Challenger is GM and Ford just used the old cars as inspiration, whereas Chrysler is flat out retro and based on the original. I don't know if I phrased it right, but that's how it's explained by the various designers.
I've seen all of them up close and in person for a while now, and the Camaro is the best looking (wasn't as big of a fan until seeing it in person). The '10 Mustang isn't updated enough from the current, and the Challenger is HUGE.
Overall, I will bet my bottom dollar the Camaro is the best driver of the bunch, by a LANDSLIDE.
They also had an 2010 stang at the show and I gotta agree I wasnt all that impressed over the current one. the headlights are a lil more squinty and the rear corners are angled.. but not a big change. I do love the look of the Challenger but its a big heavy car. more of a straightline runner. The camaro was sharp. Ive owned two in the past and am on my second vette. I would definately own another camaro. And, if the girl was right again, she said that the ss would be about 30k??ish. I just hope its true
